Centaurs At The Clearing

sweet_lemmon at LJ suggested I draw the OotP scene with Umbridge and the Centaurs. Sorry, girl! This one turned out different.

I liked the idea of drawing the centaurs but I wanted to have Firenze with them, and since poor babe was banished from the herd at the time I chose instead to illustrate Magorian -the leader-, Firenze and Bane -the standoffish, distrustful of humans one- together at a more amiable time.

Magorian is teaching a bow technique to Firenze, Bane is standing there giving out Magorian arrows. Magorian is looking at the target off-shot.

I really, *really* loved working on this drawing and I think I fell in love with these 'creatures". It was fun imagining their highly intelligent culture and different personalities. The movies Centaurs are awesome and scary, but my take on them is nowhere as brutish...Careful though, they know how to use those arrows.



I spent quite an amount of time on this one *sweatsweat* and I hope it shows. I really enjoy coloring this way, like I've done with Regulus and my last Riddle.

Hmmm...just don't tell me I've missed a crucial part of the stallion anatomy. I didn't. I chose to omit it like most Centaur depictions *lol*.
